About

A Future of Perception is an independent initiative exploring how artificial intelligence, virtual reality, machine vision, neuroscience, and emerging technologies may expand human perception and reveal aspects of reality beyond biological limits.

Human perception evolved under the pressures of survival. The senses reveal enough of the world to navigate it, avoid danger, and reproduce. They were not necessarily designed to reveal reality in its entirety.

For most of human history, the limits of perception were fixed.

Today, that may be changing.

Whether artificial systems reveal a deeper reality, or merely create new layers of interpretation, remains an open question.

A Future of Perception exists to investigate that question.
